Mission
The Board of Health is responsible to protect the health and safety of the public through enforcement of MA Department of Public Health and MA Department of Environmental Protection sanitary and environmental codes and statutes, as well as local regulations and ordinances.
We are responsible for investigation and control of communicable disease and epidemics. We promote education to the public about healthy behaviors and lifestyles, and offer flu vaccination clinics yearly. Additionally, the health department responds to disasters and plans for all hazard emergencies in the community.
